Booklet for Over 16,000 Final Year Teaching Graduates
There is nothing as intensely rewarding as steering students towards
understanding and seeing their skills grow. I have never been so busy
nor so tired, but I have never been so happy.

`Welcome to the Teaching Profession' booklet.
`We want all new teachers to have a strong sense of pride as they enter the profession,'says Fran Hinton, Chief Executive of Teaching Australia. `Marking the occasion for teachers beginning their practice contributes to raising the status of teachers.'
Teaching Australia is distributing the `Welcome to the teaching profession' booklet to over 16,000 final year teaching graduates through universities across the nation.
The booklet marks the transition of pre-service teachers into the profession and provides suggestions from principal and parent bodies, links to useful resources and a new CD of sample ICT materials for use in classrooms.
As the recently released Charter for the Teaching Profession states, `Teachers believe in the power of education to make a difference to the lives of individuals and to society.'This booklet serves as a clear message that Australians value the contribution of teachers.
