Indian education leader visits RMIT
The chair of the All India Council for Technical Education, Professor RA Yadav, will
visit RMIT University tomorrow (Thursday, 20 November).
Professor Yadav will meet RMIT Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor
Margaret Gardner AO, and senior executives at the University to discuss
opportunities for the strengthening of linkages between RMIT and Indian
educational institutions.
AICTE is the statutory body responsible for licensing domestic and foreign
educational programs operating in India.
The council oversees the licensing and quality assurance of educational programs
across every field except the liberal arts and basic sciences, with its responsibilities
including programs in business, engineering and design.
More than 1,300 Indian engineering colleges currently have AICTE approval and
all Indias major Engineering, Pharmacy and MBA colleges are affiliated with the
council.
