RM Education opens Learning Spaces
Like looking through a window into tomorrows world, leading supplier of education
resources, RM Education, is opening its innovative REAL (Rethinking Education And
Learning) Centre in Melbourne on the 26th October 2010.
The REAL Centre is a permanent space designed to provoke discussion and debate
about how an integrated approach to school design, furniture and technology can
extend the range of learning opportunities for young people.
There will be five different learning spaces; each has been designed around a
specific educational context. Each zone will feature purpose-designed furniture and
state of the art technology. These learning areas will fall under the following
categories:
Mobile presentation and discussion a flexible learning area for informal
presentations, designed to promote discussion
Collaboration where students can work together in different ways
Creativity and Media an example of how a typical classroom space can
be easily re-organised to create space for media rich activities
Individual a quiet reflective space for students to a arrange to suit their
own study requirements
Explore a project area with integrated ICT to support light practical
activities
The REAL centre will be open to all, including schools, educators, RM Education
partners and customers. Visitors will enjoy a hands-on experience to better
understand the diverse range of services RM Education offers, as well as what they
might potentially require in the future.

learning. As well as encouraging experimentation by teachers, students and product
development teams, the centre allows an opportunity to showcase excellent
educational practices and innovative resources in use. This is a very exciting new
development for us which will help provide invaluable insight into the way the next
generation will be guided through the curriculum.

dynamic and can be rotated through 90 degrees for presentations

and discussion
Furniture that has been designed to incorporate data and power management
and can easily be reconfigured to accommodate different learning activities
and green screen technology to bring creativity into the curriculum

Idea wall that performs like a dry wipe whiteboard
Project tables that can instantly turn into ICT stations
