Uni launches fresh face along east coast
CQUniversity Australia is introducing its fresh, new face along the east coast this week with
brand relaunch events at Melbourne (Tuesday), Sydney (Wednesday), Brisbane (Thursday) and
the Gold Coast (Friday).
Previously known as Central Queensland University, CQUniversity Australia retains its strong
connection to Central Queensland whilst acknowledging the University's national presence and
leading position in the international higher education sector.
Vice-Chancellor and President John Rickard said the changes to the University go beyond any
superficial change to its imagery.
"What we're really announcing is a different way of operating and doing business," said
Professor Rickard. "The logo as part of our CQUniversity brand helps us express that."
"We are a youthful and unconventional university - closely linked to our communities,
enthusiastic about lifelong learning and focused on the success of individual students and
stakeholders. We are free to formulate a different university type - focused on making higher
education more relevant and accessible to all people of all ages from all backgrounds at all times.
We encourage people to change and we're changing ourselves," he said.
"I think we continually have to ask ourselves, are we keeping pace with our customers'
expectations about time, communications, service and quality and are we making our University
more welcoming as a community resource - that's what it's all about."
The complete rollout of the CQUniversity brand across the University's 10 sites is expected to
take 18 months to complete. The University's Noosa facility conducted a launch for the new
brand on July 1.
