More Soy Milk Victims Come Forward
Maurice Blackburn lawyers will provide an update on its class action against the Australian distributors of Bonsoy milk at a Brisbane media conference tomorrow (November 9). A number of Queenslanders are also affected including Brisbane mother who will tell her story.
Bonsoy milk was voluntarily recalled before Christmas last year after the company was alerted to a cluster of people suffering health problems after drinking the product. It was discovered that one glass of the milk contained seven times the safe dose of iodine. Maurice Blackburn investigations reveal that Bonsoy contained kombu (an iodine-rich substance) from at least 2003 to the end of 2009.
What
A Brisbane mother who has become ill after drinking Bonsoy will make a statement and answer questions. Rod Hodgson, Maurice Blackburn principal for Qld will outline the scale of the problem.
