CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS ON THE WENTWORTH
BRIDGE
The RTA is advising motorists of changed traffic conditions on
the Wentworth Bridge across the Darling River at Wentworth
from Monday 11 October until early December 2010.
The RTA is carrying out deck maintenance and routine painting
on the bridge as part of its regular maintenance program.
Motorists are advised the bridge will be reduced to one lane
between 7am and 5 pm Monday to Friday with traffic controllers
in operation.
A reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will apply during work hours
and one of the footpaths will be closed at times during the work.
From mid-November the bridge will be reduced to one lane 24
hours a day, seven days a week, with traffic lights and the
reduced speed limit of 40 km/h, to allow for the final work to be
carried out.
There will not be any width restrictions during this time but loads
wider than 3.6 metres should notify the RTA on 0400 561 825 in
advance to avoid delays.
Boat owners are advised the main river channel will be closed
from 19 October for about six weeks.
Be roadwork aware, slow down and take care, roadwork speed
limits are enforceable.
