Melbourne's commuters urged to support
Connex for Cancer Day
- Thursday, 31 July

Melbourne's commuters again have the chance to support the search for a cure
for cancer through Connex for Cancer Day, to be held on 31 July.

All funds raised are donated to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, one of the
world's finest cancer hospitals.

This is the fourth Connex for Cancer Day and more than $150,000 has been
raised for cancer research since 2005.

Victorians have three ways to support the cause:

Buy a Metcard over the counter on 31 July and $1 will be donated to
Peter Mac
Leave a message of hope at www.connexforcancerday.com.au website
and Connex will donate $1 for every new posting
Give to tin rattlers at city loop stations, Flinders Street and Richmond
stations between 7.00am 9.30am on 31 July.

Around 88,000 Australians are diagnosed with cancer each year. However,
through the work of organisations such as the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre,
cancer is no longer the death sentence it used to be. More than 70 per cent of
those diagnosed will have a long-term future.
