Jetstar Launches New Services Between Singapore and Manila as Part of Major Boost to Services

MELBOURNE, Aug. 20/Medianet International-AsiaNet/ --

Low fares leader Jetstar Asia has announced it will operate three additional services* between Singapore

and Manila from the 25 October 2009.

Jetstar commenced services to Manila in April 2005 and currently operates a daily service.

The carrier was granted approval for the additional flying in June this year and from the 25 October, will

operate 10 weekly services.*

All services will operate from Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 1 to Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Jetstar Asia and Valuair Chief Executive Officer Ms Chong Phit Lian said the carrier had long had additional

Manila capacity on its radar.

"Our Manila service and low fares offering has consistently been well supported by both the leisure and the

business traveler so we are delighted to supplement our schedule with these new weekly services," Ms Chong

said.

"Operating from Terminal 1 at Singapore Changi provides easy, convenient access for travellers and

provides seemless connectivity options for our Qantas and future interline passengers."

Earlier this year, Jetstar Asia signed an interline agreement with Qantas and will pursue further interline

agreements with other carriers.

Jetstar Asia / Valuair Chief Executive Officer Ms Chong Phit Lian said today's launch of the new Manila

services come as the low fares carrier also announces new services from Singapore to Phuket in Thailand as

part of a 46 per cent growth in capacity planned for the next 12 months.

"In the coming 12 months, Jetstar plans to increase existing capacity from Singapore by 46 per cent,

supported by the arrival of three additional A320 aircraft to our fleet based in our rapidly expanding Singapore

hub.

"We look forward to continuing this trend of rapid growth for the benefit of consumers seeking low fares

across the Southeast Asia region," she said.

Passengers seeking low fares travel to Manila are encouraged to check out Jetstar's regular Friday Fare

Frenzy tomorrow afternoon between 2 pm and 6 pm at Jetstar.com for some extremely competitive sale fares.

All day every day low Jetsaver Light fares from Manila to Singapore start from SGD138 one way.
