Melbourne Welcomes Two of the Worlds Most Famous Ships on
Monday, February 22, 2010
Melbourne will welcome two remarkable cruise vessels on Monday February 22 -
the ultra-
luxury Seabourn Odyssey and Cunards gracious ocean liner Queen Victoria.
Launched in Italy last June, Seabourn Odyssey sets a new benchmark for luxury cruising. She
will be making her first ever call to Australia as part of her maiden world voyage when she
berths at Station Pier, Port Melbourne, around 7am.
She will be joined by the spectacular Queen Victoria, which will be calling at Melbourne as part
of her third world voyage. Queen Victoria is expected to berth around 8am on the western side
of Station Pier.
Between them the two vessels will bring around 2500 visitors to Melbourne and inject hundreds
of thousands of dollars into the local economy. Their visits illustrate the popularity of Melbourne
as a port of call for international ships as the global cruise industry continues to grow.
Seabourn and Cunard Line are both operating brands of the worlds largest cruise operator
Carnival Corporation & plc and represented in Australia by Carnival Australia.
The smallest and most luxurious new ship afloat, Seabourn Odyssey features just 225 spacious
suites and the highest space-per-guest ratios in the cruise industry. She also offers the largest
spa on any luxury yacht and four restaurants offering five-star dining.

depart for Sydney at 6pm while Queen Victoria will sail to Adelaide at midnight.
