New Campers to Seek Caravan and Camping Lifestyle at the Penrith Expo

26 August 2009

The Penrith Caravan, Camping & Holiday Expo to be held from 11 to 13 September at Penrith Panthers will have all the latest gear for 'first time campers' as well as the avid enthusiasts to prepare for a caravan, camping or RV holiday.

Barry Baillie, CEO of the Caravan and Camping Industry Association of NSW (CCIA) says that a recent survey of member holiday parks revealed a noticeable increase in 'first time campers' which could see a rise in consumer interest at the Penrith Expo this September.

"Over the summer period, 52.6%* of CCIA member holiday parks said that there were more 'new campers' with around 30% of the parks reporting an increase in the use of camper trailers and tents."

"With more people turning to value for money caravan and camping holidays, attendances at the Penrith Expo could reflect a new breed of campers turning towards the traditional touring getaway." The Penrith Expo is held annually at Penrith Panthers and is a free event for the public to visit for pre-summer sales offered by around 150 exhibitors.

"For those new to the market or even those wanting to add to their gear, the Penrith Expo is the ideal event to grab great bargains on tents and camping gear, caravans, motorhomes and other RVs."

"Visitors can also browse a range of holiday destinations from across New South Wales with many caravan and holiday parks exhibiting at the event," Mr Baillie said.

The Penrith Expo will showcase diverse displays of caravans, motorhomes, camper trailers, campervans, 5th wheelers, camping equipment and tents, 4WD products and accessories, holiday destinations and tourist parks, and more for the avid traveller to browse and buy.

"Our website www.penrith.superhow.com.au lists all of the Penrith Expo exhibitors for visitors to plan their visit to the show."

"Everyone deserves a holiday and caravan, camping and RV getaways are still the best value holiday option for all Australians, offering something for every budget," said Mr Baillie.

The Penrith Expo will be open 9am-5pm daily with free admission and free parking.

For more information, phone the Expo hotline on 1902 220 299 (call costs apply) or visit www.penrith.supershow.com.au.
