PATA Forges Partnership With OAG on Airline Data Analysis

SINGAPORE, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --

PATA, the Pacific Asia Travel Association, has forged a partnership with

OAG designed to further strengthen the work of the Association's Strategic

Intelligence Centre (SIC). OAG (Official Airline Guide) is now PATA's

'preferred airline data supplier' and also becomes a corporate member of the

Association.

Information provided by OAG exclusively to PATA will add considerable

weight to the Association's syndicated and custom research projects

undertaken on behalf of its global membership. The three-year agreement,

effective January 1st 2009, entitles PATA to real-time access to historic,

current and future airline schedule data including point-to-point frequencies

and seat capacities to/from specific geographic regions and jurisdictions.

"This is a good deal for both parties. We welcome the opportunity to work

with an organisation such as OAG that offers unrivalled knowledge and

expertise in the fields of global flight information and data solutions,"

says PATA SIC Director John Koldowski. "It's a major boost to our research

and analysis consultancy operations and our members will certainly benefit

from this exciting partnership with OAG. We're looking forward to working

with our new corporate partner. OAG is a forceful and dynamic member of the

travel and tourism industry and I am delighted that we will be working

closely with OAG on a wide range of projects. We also look forward to OAG

executives making significant contributions to PATA-led industry events."

"OAG has been an active contributor to the PATA Foundation and we are

very pleased to extend our partnership to the Strategic Intelligence Centre,"

says Mario M. Hardy, OAG's Vice President, Asia Pacific. "The SIC has gained

a reputation for excellence in delivering valuable strategic information to

its members and the wider travel and tourism industry. We believe that the

inclusion of OAG data will strengthen the SIC information and offer fantastic

value to the PATA membership." Hardy continued, "We are delighted to be

associated with PATA. We opened our first Asia Pacific office 23 years ago

and we share a common interest in the development of the travel industry and

in environmental issues."

Formed in 1993, the Pacific Asia Travel Association's acclaimed Strategic

Intelligence Centre is tasked with providing actionable research and data to

the organisation's members on the latest issues and trends shaping the travel

and tourism industry in Asia Pacific. Each year the SIC produces a suite of

analytical reports and publications for use by tourism planners, marketers

and researchers.
