ACT SCHOOLS COMMIT TO RECONCILIATION
Four schools that make up the Stromlo Cluster will come together today launch a
joint Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) which includes specific, measurable
actions towards closing the gaps between Indigenous and other children.
The RAP program is coordinated by Reconciliation Australia and involves a
growing number of large corporations, government agencies, sporting codes,
hospitals and universities Australian schools are the fastest growing sector of
the RAP community.
Todays launch will include:
A snake dance
A procession by the schools Indigenous students
Each school receiving a specially made message stick to carry notes
around the school
Didgeridoo playing by a student from Stromlo.
When: Thursday, 29 October at 11.30am sharp (media pls arrive at 11.20)
Where: Stromlo High School, Badimara St, Waramanga
Who: Principal Roz Lambert and Chief Executive Officer Dr Jim Watterston from
Stromlo High. Local elders, representatives from Reconciliation Australia,
students, teachers and parents.
