Building on Scholarships in 2010
In 2010 RMIT will build on its generous scholarship program to help more students
realise their potential and will increase its Study Support Scholarships from $2,000
to $2,500, in recognition of the rising cost of living faced by students.
These scholarships seek to support students at all levels of study including TAFE,
undergraduate and postgraduate students.
RMIT has awarded more than 1,800 scholarships worth millions of dollars
throughout 2009. These scholarships were spread across RMITs wide range of
interest areas at TAFE, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
For 2010 RMIT has also introduced the RMIT Honours Study Support Scholarship
for students studying their Honours year. Applications are open now and close 7
August 2009. Applications will re-open in January 2010.
RMIT also has plans for a new academic based scholarship to recognise and
reward academically talented students who can demonstrate an outstanding level
of achievement in their Year 12 results. More information on this scholarship will
be available in the coming months.
RMIT aims to support students from all backgrounds in achieving their study
ambitions, and to do this an array of equity scholarships have been developed to
assist with financial and living circumstances.
If you are a student from a regional area, have an Aboriginal or Torres Strait
Islander background, have a disability or long-term medical condition or youre
experiencing difficult financial circumstances, these scholarships could be for you.
To affirm RMITs reputation as a global university, there are scholarships and
grants available that recognise your needs if you are an international student in
Australia or a student wanting to undertake part of your study program overseas.
To find out more about scholarships at RMIT visit RMIT Open Day on Sunday 9
August and join one of the Introduction to RMIT, scholarships and student
diversity presentations at our City or Bundoora campus.
