NEWS ALERT: BACK TO SCHOOL STORY OPPORTUNITY

NEW RESEARCH

CHILDREN WITH HEARING LOSS NOW TOP OF
CLASS ENTERING MAINSTREAM SCHOOL

WHAT:
New research,
conducted by The Shepherd Centre, shows children with
hearing loss are now doing just as well as their hearing peers due to early,
advanced learning programs and greater improvements in technology.

The research confirms the remarkable educational and developmental
progress of children with hearing loss in mainstream schools, which would not
have been thought possible just 20 years ago.

The data comes as the next round of students put on their little backpacks and
along with their parents prepare for their first year in mainstream school.

The Shepherd Centre teaches children with hearing loss
(0-5 years)
how to
listen and speak through
their early intervention and
Auditory-Verbal therapy
programs
assisted by the latest hearing aid and Cochlear technology.  Over
90% of students from The Shepherd
Centre
go
on to attend mainstream
school after completing the program.
