Education cuts may leave disadvantaged students in
Catholic schools vulnerable
The Chair of the National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC), Therese Temby, today
expressed concern at the proposal of the Coalition to cut $330 million from disadvantaged
Catholic schools across Australia.
This funding is helping schools to serve disadvantaged communities and to address the
learning needs of students and families, Ms Temby said.
We would be disappointed if this funding was discontinued.
We will work with whoever wins the election on Saturday to ensure disadvantaged students
in these schools continue to receive the services they need.
