Lessons from the Pakistan floods


Her Excellency, Fauzia Nasreen, High Commissioner of Pakistan, will speak at an

RMIT University symposium tomorrow (Thursday) on lessons to be learned from

disaster-related projects.


Ms Nasreen will be joined by Jamie Isbister, Assistant Director General, Africa and

Humanitarian, with AusAID.


They will discuss the impact of the recent catastrophic floods in Pakistan, which at

their peak left 20 million homeless.


Other experts will examine the recovery process on both sides of the Indian Ocean

following the 2004 tsunami.


The symposium is being organised by RMIT’s School of Property, Construction

and Project Management.
