Play Around at Australias Most Interactive Games School
Applications are now open for Holiday courses in 3D Animation, Visual FX and Computer-
Game development at AIEs new Sydney campus.
AIE has an earned its place as Australias most-awarded training college in Canberra and
Melbourne. Since 2009 the same quality of education is available from AIEs state-of-the-art
facilities in Ultimo.
These holidays, AIE Sydney is holding 1-2 day courses for young students (10-15yrs) and 1-
week courses for older students (15-18yrs). These courses are great for young people
thinking about further study in game design or Visual FX for film or those just looking for a
challenge these holidays.
For younger students (10-15yrs) courses include;
12th-13th April

15th-16th April
Character Animation Junior
Interested Older students (15-18yrs) will be able to choose between:
12th-16th April
Game Programming Fundamentals
12th-16th April
3D Animation Fundamentals
For 15-18yr olds, participants can extend their holiday program for an extra week to qualify
for a Certificate II in Basic Game Programming or a Certificate II Specialising in 3D Animation.
The Certificate II course can count towards students final HSC mark.
The dates for Certificate II courses in Sydney this year are:
12th-16th April 2010

Week 3* (*optional)
No prior of knowledge of 3D animation or Games Development is required.
The focus of AIEs short courses is to give students a taste of the real thing. All the teachers
at AIE have worked in Gaming or film Industries and concentrate their courses to give
students the skills they need to find successful employment after graduation. Participants
get the chance to drive software that real life professionals use every day.
An Industry Experience Day is held on the Wednesday of the holiday program each year.
This year, it will be held on April 14 at Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne campuses. Parents,
students and Media are invited to attend.
The highlights of Industry Experience Day are two real computer-workshops, a talk by an
Industry-Professional and live game demonstrations.
