Short Courses at AIE. Are you Game?
As a best-practice leader in vocational education, AIE are proud to announce two courses
tailored for Game and Film/Screen professionals. In response to demand from a mobile
digital arts industry, these courses are intensive, practical and relevant.
Mudbox: Beyond the Basics
Mudbox is a digital sculpting and texture painting software that allows 3D modeling
professionals to quickly create high-detail organic and inorganic 3D assets using an intuitive
interface.

Mudbox: Beyond the Basics has been designed for those with already-existing knowledge of
mudbox who want to enhance their digital sculpting skills by David King, one of the best
teachers in the Industry.
David King is a world-class digital artist and teacher. His work includes creatures and
characters for a staggering range of game, film and commercial projects. See his website:
David has worked on well-known games like Dungeons & Dragons, Unreal Tournament and
Civilization IV. Within the Screen and TV Industry, David worked as the shader-artist for
creatures on Where the Wild Things Are, and on creature modeling and surfacing for the
award-winning advertisement `Comcast Rabbit from Animal Logic.
For interested students without prior Mudbox knowledge, David will teach a Foundations of
Mudbox one-day prior to the commencement of the course. Courses are very reasonably
priced.
Cost: $250 (student concession available)
Digital Compositing and Visual Effects
Starting June 7, this 10-week course will run one night a week from 5-9pm. The focus will be
digital compositing and film post production, building technical proficiency with the program
Nuke. Nuke is a powerful compositing tool which was used in the making of films such as
Avatar, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Iron Man
