Vancouver Film School Offers Scholarships in India - VFS marks grand opening of 4
international offices, including branch in Mumbai
VANCOUVER, Aug. 12 /CNW-AsiaNet/ --
Vancouver Film School (VFS), Canada's premier post-secondary entertainment arts institution,
is celebrating the grand opening of four new international offices, including one in Mumbai, by
offering scholarships to all 13 of its full-time programs.
The scholarships range from $3,000 to $15,000 CDN and can be applied to start dates in
January, March, May, and June 2009. VFS programs have multiple start dates throughout the
year and vary by program.
The Spring 2009 Scholarships - and the opening of the four VFS offices in India, Mexico,
Taiwan, and Korea - are aimed at reaching out to a large pool of aspiring filmmakers, animators,
artists, and designers in those regions and giving them a once-in-a-lifetime chance to study at
VFS. Each international office is staffed by a dedicated Admissions Advisor who is familiar with
the region and able to help students make the transition to VFS.
"We're very excited about the opportunity to extend these scholarships to aspiring, talented
students in India," says Dorothy Mathias, the VFS Admissions Advisor in India. "A year at VFS
is a life-changing experience, and we're looking forward to helping that talent take the next step
in their careers."
The 13 entertainment arts programs at VFS, which all span one year or less, include everything
from Animation & Visual Effects to Digital Design to Film Production to Game Design to Sound
Design for Visual Media.
A limited number of scholarships will be offered to qualified applicants on a first-come, first-
served basis. The deadline to apply and be accepted for one of the Spring 2009 Scholarships is
October 31, 2008.
