TO ASSIST JOB SEEKERS AND EMPLOYERS FIND EACH OTHER....

The National Careers & Employment Expo kicks off in Perth on Friday 4th April at the

Perth Convention Centre as the first stop on its national trip to assist job seekers and

employers find each other within the job market.

At a time when Australia finds

itself in a dire skills shortage environment, this is a

unique opportunity for employers and prospective employees to meet and talk in a

relaxed, non-threatening environment to discuss career prospects and

advancements.  Over 80 exhibitors will be present from a diverse group of industries

including retail, mining, government, tourism, education, finance and more.

Some of the exhibitors at the 2008 WA Expo include Australian Federal Police, Flight

Centre, Woolworths, QANTAS, Westpac, Department of Health, Thales Australia as

well as TAFES and other educational institutions.

Friday 4th April is Education Day.  Schools and university students from across Perth

will descend on the Expo to meet employers and their representatives who will be

able to discuss career paths, salary expectations and career advancement

opportunities amongst many things.

The National Careers & Employment Expo is run by EOC Group Pty Ltd and run as a

community event.  Company spokesperson Julie McConachy, General Manager

says ‘The current resources boom in Western Australia is great for the state, and

because of this boom, there are many positions open in the broader employment

market. Career Expos give companies and educational institutions a platform where

they can interact with school leavers, undergraduates, post graduates or career

shifters to fill these roles’.

The Careers & Employment Expo is a free community event. Hours are: Friday open

from 9am to 4pm.  Saturday open 10am to 4pm.  For more information visit

The National Careers & Employment Expo is proudly sponsored by The Sunday Times
