Foley & Lardner Adds Veteran International Trade, Transactional Attorney to Washington, D.C. Office

WASHINGTON, May 14 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --

Robert Huey Brings Multinational Experience; Unique Emphasis on Japanese Companies Strengthens

Firm's Presence Along Pacific Rim

Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Robert Huey has joined the firm as a partner in the Washington,

D.C. office, working in the Transactional & Securities Practice. Prior to joining Foley, Huey was a partner at

Hunton & Williams LLP.

Huey focuses his practice on international trade and transaction matters for multinational clients based in

Europe, Asia and South America, which includes deep, longstanding relationships with major Japanese

clients. His diversified practice includes advising on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and general

commercial representation, regulatory advice on matters such as direct non-passive foreign investment in the

United States, competition litigation on both civil and criminal matters, and other trade regulatory issues.

Building upon the recent arrivals of Jon Dudas, former director of the United States Patent and Trademark

Office (USPTO), Richard Wallace, former vice president and chief counsel at the Financial Industry Regulatory

Authority (FINRA) and litigator David Hickerson from Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP, Huey is the latest addition

to the firm's growing Washington, D.C. office.

"We are excited about adding another accomplished attorney to the firm as we continue to expand our office

in Washington," said Jay W. Freedman, managing partner of Foley's Washington, D.C. office. "Bob's

experience with multinational companies, particularly those based in Japan, will be an important asset to our

clients who have interests abroad."

"Bob's extensive experience representing Japanese, as well other multinational companies around the

globe, complements our Transactional and Securities Practice nationally, as well as in Tokyo," said Jay O.

Rothman, chair of Foley's Transactional & Securities Practice. "Foley has had strong connections to the

Japanese marketplace for more than 25 years, particularly in IP counseling and litigation for major Japanese

corporations. His experience on the transactional side is a great fit and significantly enhances our capabilities

in the Pacific Rim."

Foley & Lardner LLP continually evolves to meet the changing legal needs of our clients. Our team-based

approach, proprietary client service technology, and practice depth enhance client relationships while seeing

clients through their most complex legal challenges. The BTI Consulting Group (Wellesley, Massachusetts)

recently recognized Foley as one of the top four law firms shaping the U.S. legal market, while CIO magazine
