Deadline to enrol to vote in the Bradfield by-election
Anyone living in the Bradfield electorate who is not enrolled has until Friday, 30 October
2009 to enrol to vote in the upcoming federal by-election.
The AEC Divisional Returning Officer for Bradfield, Yvonne Harrison, commented that any
Australian citizen aged 18 years and over who is not currently enrolled must complete an
enrolment form and return it to the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) by 8pm on
Friday, 30 October 2009.
We are urging every eligible elector who may not be enrolled, especially anyone who
turned 18 after the federal election in 2007, to check they are correctly enrolled, said Ms
Harrison.
Enrolment forms can be accessed from the AEC website at www.aec.gov.au and are
available at any AEC office or Australia Post outlet as well as at any Medicare or Centrelink
offices.
You can then take or post your completed enrolment form to the AEC office at Level 12, 67
Albert Avenue, Chatswood; fax it to (02) 9779 1018; or scan and email it to
BRADFIELD@aec.gov.au, she said.
Ms Harrison commented that anyone who has recently moved address should check their
enrolment details are up-to-date at www.aec.gov.au or by calling 13 23 26.
If youre already on the roll and just need to update your details, you have until 8pm on
Monday, 9 November 2009 to complete an enrolment form and return it to the AEC.
Election day for the electorate of Bradfield House of Representatives by-election is 5
December 2009. Voting is compulsory for Australian citizens aged 18 years and over and
enrolled in the electorate of Bradfield.
The by-election will be conducted using the same electoral boundaries for Bradfield as used
at the 2007 federal election.
