43% of pool owners in NSW never check their pool fences. It’s time to be
safety smart, says CEO of SPASA NSW

In light of last night’s tragic drowning of a toddler in a backyard pool in Broken Hill, the
Swimming Pool and Spa Association of NSW is calling for pool owners to be safety smart this
summer. Despite ongoing safety awareness campaigns, according to a recent SPASA NSW
survey of 100 pool owners, 43% of pool owners in NSW never check their pool fences.
