More dwelling units approved this month
The number of total dwellings approved rose 5.9% in November 2009 following a fall last month.
The number of dwelling approvals rose in New South Wales (+6.0%), Victoria (+10.2%),
Queensland (+12.4%) and South Australia (+1.6%).
There was a fall in the number of houses approved this month (-2.0%), however this was offset by
a rise in approvals for dwellings other than houses (+31.7%).
The value of total building approved rose 24.6% in November following falls in September and
October. Non-residential building approvals rose 52.8% in value this month and the value of new
residential buildings increased by 2.2%.
