$1 MILLION MAINTENANCE UPGRADE FOR
APPIN ROAD CONTINUES
Work on Appin Road is continuing as part of the $1million maintenance upgrade to
improve safety and road conditions for motorists.
An RTA spokesperson
said the work on Appin Road east of Cataract Dam is fully
funded by the State Government and includes resurfacing the road to provide a
smoother surface.
Appin Road is a busy location and this major upgrade will lengthen the life of the
road and provide safer conditions for all road users, the spokesperson said.
The work will be carried out at night to minimise disruptions to traffic during the day
today from Tuesday 26 January to Thursday 28 January 2010, and Tuesday 9
February to Thursday 11 February, and Sunday 14 February to Monday 15
February, weather permitting.
Night work will begin at 6pm until 5am with temporary traffic lights and a reduced
40km speed limit in place throughout the work site.
Motorists should follow all signs and traffic directions and the reduced speed limit.
Be roadwork aware, slow down and take care, roadwork speed limits are
enforceable.
