IMPROVEMENTS ANNOUNCED FOR BOBBIN
HEAD AND BURNS ROADS
Funding had been provided to the RTA and the Ku-ring-gai Council to carry out a number
of safety improvements to Bobbin Head and Burns roads, Turramurra.
An RTA spokesperson said the RTA would carry out $200,000 of improvements and the
Council would complete $300,000 for work to this intersection.
This is good news for the people of Turramurra who have been calling for improvements
to this council road, the spokesperson said.
This intersection has been of concern to the RTA, Ku-ring-gai Council and the Turramurra
Community because there have been a number of crashes involving turning vehicles.
The RTA will upgrade the existing traffic lights and install new right turn arrows which will
make it safer for people turning.
The Ku-ring-gai Council will build protected right turn bays on all four edges of the
intersection which will improve safety even further.
The spokesperson said the funding was being provided through the Federal Black Spot
Program.
Work is planned to start by the end of February next year and be completed by the end of
June 2010 weather permitting, the spokesperson said.
