CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS ON THE
KAMILAROI HIGHWAY SOUTH OF GUNNEDAH
Work will soon start on a $1m project to improve the Kamilaroi Highway from the
roundabout south of Gunnedah.
An RTA spokesperson said this work will involve widening
the road and sealing the
shoulders on a 6km section of road south of Gunnedah.
The work will generally be carried out between 7am to 5pm on weekdays, and there
may be some minor traffic delays. Traffic will be restricted to a one lane alternating
traffic flow arrangement with a 40km/h speed limit in place to maintain safety, the
spokesperson said.
Outside working hours traffic will be controlled by mobile traffic lights with a restriction
of 60km/h speed limit in place until the work is completed.
The work is anticipated to be completed in April 2010, weather permitting.
Motorists are asked to comply with all temporary signposting and traffic control
measures and to proceed with care through this worksite: Be road work aware, slow

road work speed limits are enforceable, the spokesperson
said.
The RTA appreciates the patience of motorists while it carries out these upgrades.
The work will be undertaken by the Gunnedah Shire Council on behalf of the RTA.
