CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS AT HEXHAM BRIDGE
Motorists are advised there will be changed traffic conditions at Hexham Bridge
tonight while the RTA carries out routine maintenance on the southbound bridge.
The closures at Hexham Bridge have been extended to include tonight, Thursday 11
February between 9pm and 5am tomorrow to allow for testing of the finished work.
The southbound bridge will be closed to traffic but the northbound bridge will be open
to vehicles, with one lane to be used for northbound traffic and one lane for
southbound traffic.
The work has been scheduled at night to minimise disruption to motorists.
Due to the
work, the bridge will remain
closed to marine traffic until 5am on
12 February.
The work is essential to ensure the safe and reliable running of the bridge.
Traffic control will be in place during the work and motorists should obey all signs and
directions to ensure the safety of motorists and road workers.
The RTA appreciates the patience of motorists during this important work
and
apologises for any inconvenience that this extension may cause.
