LANE CLOSURE LYONS ROAD DRUMMOYNE
Motorists are advised there will be changed traffic conditions on Lyons Road
Drummoyne from tonight Wednesday 3 February.
The RTA will permanently close the left hand slip lane from Lyons Road westbound
onto Victoria Road as part of the Inner West Busway.
Motorists will still be able to turn left but they will have to do so at the traffic lights
instead of the slip lane.
The change is to allow for provision of a new bus bay.
This will also eliminate the conflict between buses, cars and pedestrians around the
busy bus stop, improving safety for pedestrians.
Motorists driving along Lyons Road and heading over the Gladesville Bridge towards
the western suburbs can still use the one way access along Bayswater Street onto
Westbourne Street.
Once it is finished, the Inner West Busway will improve travel times and service
reliability for the 200,000 commuters who travel by bus along Victoria Road each
week.
Motorists are asked to drive safely through work sites and observe all speed limits.
