Major works on the West Gate Freeway this weekend as part of M1 upgrade
Weekend works will continue along the West Gate Freeway which will cause delays to
motorists.
West Gate Freeway heading inbound towards Kings Way and CityLink Tunnels
To safely undertake asphalting works, the following temporary traffic conditions will be
implemented on the West Gate Freeway inbound:
Closure of the Power Street eastbound exit-ramp and Burnley Tunnel - 9pm
Saturday to 9am Sunday
Closure of the recently-opened Montague Street eastbound entry-ramp - 8pm Friday
to 5am Saturday.
West Gate Freeway heading outbound towards West Gate Bridge
To safely replace an existing bridge expansion joint, the following temporary traffic
conditions will be implemented on the West Gate Freeway outbound:
Only two lanes available heading westbound between Power Street and Montague
Street - all weekend (8pm Friday to 5am Monday)
Closure of Montague Street westbound exit-ramp - all weekend (8pm Friday to 5am
Monday)
Two lanes still available on Kings Way westbound entry-ramp.
Bolte Bridge heading towards the CityLink Tunnels
Asphalting works will be undertaken on the Bolte Bridge eastbound exit-ramp heading to
Kings Way and Docklands.
To safely undertake these works, this ramp will be closed from 8pm Sunday 29 Nov to 5am
Monday 30 Nov 2009.
During these closures, all Bolte Bridge traffic heading eastbound will be detoured via the
recently-opened Bolte Bridge entry-ramp heading to the Burnley Tunnel and Power Street.
Monash Freeway
Major asphalting works on the Monash Freeway between High Street and Warrigal Road
have been cancelled this weekend. Minor works between Huntingdale Road and Atkinson
Street overpass will be carried out on Saturday morning.
Some delays are expected and drivers are strongly encouraged to plan their route in
advance and allow extra time for your journey.

In addition, the Montague Street westbound entry-ramp (for traffic heading towards the
West Gate Bridge) will be temporarily closed on Friday and Sunday nights and during the
day all day on Saturday. Drivers will be diverted to an alternative ramp to access the
freeway.
No daytime works will be carried out on the Monash this weekend.
