MAINTENANCE WORK
ON WENTWORTH BRIDGE
Work on Wentworth Bridge will continue from today for the next few weeks to
enable painting and deck work to be carried out on the bridge.
The bridge will be restricted to a single lane while the work is carried out between
7am to 5pm.
A reduced speed limit of 40km/h will apply during working hours and one of the
footways will be closed at times throughout the work.
From mid -November the bridge will be reduced to one lane with traffic lights and
a speed limit of 40km/h, to allow for final work to be carried out.
There will not be any width restrictions during this time but loads wider than 3.6
metres should notify the RTA on 0400 561 825. in advance to avoid any delays.
Work on the bridge is expected to finish in mid -December.
Boat owners are advised the main river channel will be closed from the first week of
November for six weeks.
The RTA thanks motorists and boat owners for their patience while this work is
carried out.
