NIGHT CLOSURE NEW ENGLAND HIGHWAY
AT MAITLAND
Motorists are advised there will be changed traffic conditions on the New England
Highway at Maitland this week.
The RTA will close the New England Highway in the vicinity of Devonshire Street,
Maitland on Sunday 10 October 2010 between 12 midnight and 4am the following
day, to replace the footbridge that was damaged last year.
The work has been scheduled at night to minimise disruption to motorists and the
RTA appreciates the patience of motorists during this important work.
Eastbound motorists are advised that an alternate route will be in place via Church
Street, Ken Tubman Drive and High Street to detour around the New England
Highway at Devonshire Street, Maitland during the closure.
Westbound motorists should use High Street, Ken Tubman Drive, Bulwer Street,
Elgin Street, Railway Street and Church Street to detour around the New England
Highway at Devonshire Street, Maitland during the closure.
Heavy vehicles must use an alternate
route via John Renshaw Drive and Cessnock
Road to detour around the New England Highway at Devonshire Street, Maitland
during the closure.
Signage will be in place to advise motorists of detour arrangements.
