NIGHT WORK ON THE SWAN HILL BRIDGE
The RTA is advising motorists the Swan Hill Bridge over the Murray River will
be closed at night from Monday 15 February to Friday 26 March, weather
permitting, while the RTA carries out work to replace the bridge deck.
The RTA will close the bridge from 11pm to 6am to allow workers to replace the
bridge deck and reduce the inconvenience to bridge users during the day.
The RTA advises all motorists to plan their trip accordingly and check the
closing times over the six weeks period.
During the work detours will be available for B-doubles via the Tooleybuc Bridge
and other vehicles via Nyah Bridge.
The Speewa Ferry, which provides transport for vehicles up to eight tonnes, will
operate 24 hours a day.
Pedestrians will have access to designated crossings and footpath areas.
Secure parking will be available on both sides of the bridge and a shuttle bus
service will operate in the evenings.
Motorists are asked to follow all temporary traffic controls.
Be roadwork aware, slow down and take care, roadwork speed limits are
enforceable.
