NRMA Road Safety Grant Presentations in Sydney's Inner West Tomorrow

Monday, 25 October 2010: NRMA Motoring & Services Director, Dawn Fraser will present three NRMA Safer Driving School Road Safety Grants to organisations in Sydney's inner west tomorrow.

1:45PM, Tuesday, 26 October 2010 Ashfield City Council
Address: Haberfield Library, 78 Dalhousie Street, Haberfield, NSW
A child with the Program's fun 'learning' character will be present.
Ms Fraser will present Ashfield Mayor, Clr Ted Cassidy with a $2,500 grant for a project for local preschoolers to increase passenger and pedestrian safety. The safety messages will be taught through songs and visual resources using fun and memorable characters.

2:30PM, Tuesday, 26 October 2010 Meriden School

Students will be present. - Media to meet at Administration.

Ms Fraser will present Meriden School with a $1,000 grant for an integrated road safety program that spans the school's curriculum. Safe traffic Management units of work will be written and presented to Geography classes studying Urban Development, Commerce classes studying Government, Maths classes calculating statistics on road infringements and Science classes calculating force, speed and momentum. A video of a poster competition will follow.

Children will be present. - Media to meet at reception

Ms Fraser will present Strathfield City Council with a $5,000 grant for a project to develop a community media campaign in English with translations in Chinese and Korean to educate the community on School Zone safety, double parking, Kiss and Ride and safe pedestrian practices, no stopping and no parking rules and mobile phone usage by drivers.
