TRAFFIC ALERT
28 OCTOBER 2009
CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS
OAK FLATS TO DUNMORE
Motorists are reminded
of changed traffic conditions on the Princes Highway
between Oak Flats and Dunmore with the new 5.5 kilometre highway opening
to
traffic last week.
The northbound road
is open
but
traffic conditions have changed on the
southbound road while further work is carried out.
Motorists travelling on the southbound road will have to merge into one lane at
the start of the new section
and again just south of the Shellharbour
Road on
-
ramp.
This is to allow work to be completed where the old Shellharbour Road joins the
highway. This work could only be started once the new road opened to traffic,
and includes widening, pavement and drainage works.
This work is expected to take around two weeks, weather permitting.
Work on the median and landscaping is also being completed over the next few
weeks, weather permitting.
Signs are in place to alert motorists to the temporary traffic conditions and motorists
are advised that a reduced speed limit of 40km applies while the work is carried out.
The RTA thanks motorists for their patience while this work is being carried out.
For more information contact the RTAs Transport Management Centre on 132 701.
