NEWELL HIGHWAY WORK IN PARKES SHIRE
The RTA advises that road work is being carried out on the Newell Highway between
Tichborne and Coobang.
Motorists can expect minor delays at each of the worksites.
Traffic south of the railway crossing at Parkes from Woodward Street to Henderson Street
will be reduced to one lane during business hours with a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h.
Work is expected to be completed by 19 February.
During work on the Pipeclay Road intersection improvements at Tichborne, traffic will be
controlled by traffic controllers with a reduced speed of 40 km/h. Work is expected to be
completed by early April.
Five kilometres north of Parkes on the highway the speed limit is reduced to 40 km/h
between 7am and 6pm. The shoulders on the northbound lane of the highway are closed
while the wire rope guardrail is being repaired. Work is expected to be completed by 17
February.
