ROAD SAFETY WORK COMPLETED IN
COFFS HARBOUR AND SANDY BEACH
Road safety work has been completed to upgrade a number of intersections in Coffs
Harbour and Sandy Beach.
These intersections included Graham Drive with Diamond Head Drive at Sandy
Beach, Hogbin Drive with Boultwood Street and Hogbin Drive with Hi Tech Drive at
Coffs Harbour.
The improvement of the intersection at Graham Drive and Diamond Head Drive at
Sandy Beach involved installing street lighting and improving the existing guard rail.
Street lighting and a new pedestrian refuge were installed at the intersection of
Hogbin Drive with Boultwood Street in Coffs Harbour.
Raised medians were installed at Hogbin Drive and Hi Tech Drive in Coffs Harbour to
improve safety for traffic turning at this intersection.
The installation of lighting at the intersections will improve night-time safety for
residents.
The work is expected to reduce the number of crashes at these intersections, and is
being carried out by Coffs Harbour City Council on behalf of the RTA.
These road safety works were fully funded by the Federal Government under the
Nation Building Black Spot Program costing $415,000.
