MEDIA RELEASE
25 November 2009
RTA REGISTRY TRADING HOURS OVER
CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR PERIOD
The RTA is advising customers of changed trading hours during the Christmas and
New Year holiday period.
The RTA registries and the RTA Contact Centre will be operating to Christmas Eve.
The registries and call centres will then be closed from Friday 25 December until
Tuesday 29 December 2009.
The RTA registries and contact centre will be open again for customers before New
Years Day on December 30 and 31 and closed on 1 January 2010.
Normal trading hours will apply on the opening days in the lead up to Christmas and
New Years Day.
Importantly, many RTA services will still be available via the internet at myRTA.com
which means people will be able to book a driving test, renew their rego, change their
address, check demerit points and order number plates.
The RTA will be placing posters in all its registries and will have a message printed
on all renewal notice envelopes, informing customers of the trading hours.
Advertising will also be running across NSW metropolitan and regional newspapers
as well as a recorded message about the holiday period when customers phone the
call centre.
The RTAs website, which is one of the most frequented government websites in
Australia, will also have all the holiday trading information.
