CASTROL MOTOR INDUSTRY AWARDS 2009
Congratulations to all the TACC Castrol Motor Industry Award winners.
The 2009 presentation ceremony, at Wrest Point, Hobart was a hugely enjoyable
occasion and a celebration of the commitment and dedication shown by those
involved with the Automotive Industry of Tasmania.
Peter Murphy, Southern Cross Nightly News weatherman, was Master of
Ceremonies, and introduced TACC Chairman, Rodney Howell and guest speaker, Dr
Giovanni Pagano, an entertaining automobile futurist. The after-dinner music was
provided by DJ Gasket.
TACC would like to acknowledge all the nominees and Award winners. I know we
said this in 2008, but it is true: the standard of entries really does get higher every
year, TACC General Manager, Malcolm Little, said.
There were more than 50 Award nominations this year, plus an additional Award,
the Small Mechanical Repairer of the Year.
The evening was an opportunity to recognise the efforts of those working in the
Automotive Industry of Tasmania, and it would not be possible without the support of
our sponsors.
In particular, TACC would like to acknowledge the special relationship we enjoy with
Castrol Australia, our marquee sponsors. We look forward to working closely with
them over the next twelve months and to co-hosting the TACC Castrol Motor Industry
Awards next year.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our hosts, Wrest Point, all TACC
members and guests for supporting the evening and the TACC Executive Committee
and staff for organizing such an enjoyable event.
Several people have asked how we intend to top the night. We will try and plans are
already underway for the TACC Castrol Motor Industry Awards 2010, Mr Little said.
