TEMPORARY CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS ON
THE NEW ENGLAND HIGHWAY NORTH OF GLEN
INNES
Work is set to start on a $1m project to improve the New England Highway about
22km north of Glen Innes just south of the Bald Nob Road turn off.
This work will involve widening the road and sealing the road shoulders on a four-
kilometre long section of road.
Some minor traffic delays may be experienced during work hours between 7am to
5pm on weekdays.
Traffic will be restricted by traffic controllers to a one lane alternating traffic flow
arrangement with a 40km/h speed limit in place.
Outside working hours traffic will be controlled by mobile traffic lights with a
restriction of 60km/h speed limit in place until the improvement work is completed.
The work is anticipated to be completed in May 2010, weather permitting.
Motorists are asked to comply with all temporary signposting and traffic control
measures and to proceed with care through this worksite.
Be road work aware, slow down and take care, road work speed limits are
enforceable.
The RTA asks motorists to be patient during these necessary works.
The state-funded work will be carried out by the RTA.
