TRAFFIC ALERT

CHANGED TRAFFIC CONDITIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF 
THE THIRD HUNTER RIVER CROSSING 
 
Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions at Bolwarra 
and Largs 
during 
construction of the Third Hunter River Crossing at Maitland. 
 
Glenarvon Road and Flat Road will be closed to general traffic. Glenarvon Road will 
be closed between King Island Road, Largs, and the Rose Farm. 
 
The closure is scheduled to take place on 4 January, 2010, and is expected to 
remain in place for up to six months. 
 
Glenarvon Road and Flat Road will only be open to vehicles accessing properties 
within the closed section of Glenarvon Road and Flat Road, and to vehicles 
associated with construction of the Third Hunter River Crossing. 
 
Motorists travelling between Largs and Maitland are advised to use Paterson Road.  
 
The road alignment on Paterson Road will be changed while a new roundabout at the 
intersection with Flat Road 
is being built. The speed limit will be reduced to 40km/h 
during construction.  
 
These changes are scheduled to start in early January 2010. 
 
This work and the detours will be signposted and motorists should obey all directions 
and signposting. The RTA appreciates the co-operation of motorists while this 
essential work is being done.
