TRAFFIC ALERT
19 OCTOBER 2009
TRAFFIC CHANGES ON PACIFIC
HIGHWAY NEAR KEW
There will be changed traffic conditions for motorists travelling on the Pacific Highway
south of Kew on Tuesday 20 October 2009.
Three kilometres of new northbound carriageway between Stoney Creek and Camden
Haven River will open to north and southbound traffic.
Traffic will be one lane in each direction. Electronic message signs will advise motorists
of the changes.
The traffic switch will allow work to continue on the new southbound carriageway and
means that a total of 18.5 kilometres of upgraded carriageway is being used for Pacific
Highway traffic between Coopernook and Herons Creek.
Motorists are advised that following the traffic switch the southbound rest area at Ross
Glen will close. An alternative rest area for light vehicles is available at Tom Cat Creek
14.5km to the south. Alternative rest stops for southbound heavy vehicles are at
Kundabung, 51km to the north of Ross Glen or Talawahl, 52km south of Ross Glen.
The Coopernook to Herons Creek part of the Pacific Highway upgrade is expected to be
completed in the first half of 2010, weather permitting.
The RTA thanks motorists for their patience during this work.
