UPDATE ON WENTWORTH BRIDGE WORK
The RTA is providing a further update on traffic conditions on the
Wentworth Bridge over the Darling River at Wentworth.
Boat owners are advised the main river channel will be closed from
Monday 25 October for about six weeks as work continues on the
bridge.
For motorists, there is one bridge lane and one footpath operating
between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday. A reduced speed limit of
40km/h applies during work hours.
From 2 November until mid-December, the bridge will be reduced to
one lane and one footpath 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday, to
allow the final work to be carried out. Traffic lights and a reduced
speed limit of 40km/h will apply during work hours.
The bridge will re-open to two lanes each weekend from 2pm Friday
to 9.30am Monday and operate with a 40km/h speed restriction. One
footpath will remain closed.
There will not be any width restrictions during this time but loads
wider than 3.6 metres should notify the RTA in advance to avoid
delays.
Be roadwork aware, slow down and take care, roadwork speed limits
are enforceable.
