DIARY NOTE Sunday 15th November 2009

Victoria's Road Crash Victims Remembered

Lives lost and people injured on Victorian roads will be remembered at a special event to be held at Parliament House on Sunday 15th November.

The Time of Remembrance service will take place in Queens Hall, Parliament House and will commence at 12:00pm.

The service will be a moving and timely reminder of the personal cost of road trauma, as we move into the Christmas holiday season traditionally a time of increased road related deaths and injuries.

Road Trauma Support Services (RTSS) has organised this event to coincide with similar international events marking World Remembrance Day for road crash victims.

The purpose of the event is to provide an opportunity for people to acknowledge their grief, honour their loved ones and reinforce road safety messages.

Senior members of parliament and representatives of police and emergency service personnel will attend, as well as those who have lost family and friends in road crashes.

WHAT: Time of Remembrance ceremony for those who have lost loved ones or who have been injured in a road collision

WHEN: 12 noon

WHERE: Queen's Hall, Parliament House

RTSS Patron Bev Brock will be available for interview ahead of the service from 11:30am.
