Warrnambool and Seymour train lines to return to service Monday

V/Line will return full train services to the Warrnambool and Seymour lines from Monday
16 February as works to repair fire damaged rail infrastructure near completion.

Recent bushfires caused extensive damage to sleepers and other rail infrastructure, forcing
V/Line to close sections of track along the Warrnambool and Seymour lines.

Road coaches replaced all train services on the Seymour line, and a limited train service
has been operating to and from Warrnambool line since last Wednesday.

V/Line General Manager, Ursula McGinnes, said V/Line's rail workers worked tirelessly to
bring the lines back to full operation for Monday.

"They have worked around the clock to minimise disruption to our Warrnambool, Seymour
and Shepparton passengers," Ms McGinnes said.

"There was extensive damage particularly on the Seymour line. In the short time since the
fires, we have replaced two bridge decks near Wandong and rebuilt the pits and platform
coping at the local station.

"Also, around 1200 sleepers have been replaced on the Seymour line and a further 3000 on
the Warrnambool line, in the four kilometer section between Colac and Camperdown."

Minor delays to services are expected when trains resume on Monday.
