LAUNCH OF TOURISM INITIATIVES FOR SOUTH AUSTRALIA


The Minister for Tourism, Martin Ferguson AM MP, will officially launch the Flinders Ranges

National Landscape and the Great Outback Cattle Drive at Old Wilpena Station in the Flinders

Ranges on Friday, 7 August 2009 at 2.30pm.


The National Landscapes program is a partnership between Tourism Australia and Parks Australia

to promote and conserve Australia’s iconic natural landscapes. As part of the program, the Flinders

Ranges will be promoted as to visitors throughout Australia and around the world by Tourism

Australia. The Flinders Ranges is one of nine National Landscapes around Australia.


The Great Outback Cattle Drive will be held in South Australia during 2010. The Federal

Government is providing $500,000 to support the event in partnership with the South Australian

Government which is expected to attract Australian and international visitors who want to

experience a uniquely Australian outback adventure.
