WOMEN IN CLIMATE CHANGE
Major New National Forum Series Comes to Melbourne


As the nation's politicians debate the fate of the Emissions Trading Scheme, a major new women's initiative is saying `just do it' in regard to action to cut carbon pollution.

Doors open for the women in climate change melbourne launch event at 7am on
thursday, december 3rd, at the hilton on the park, east melbourne.

WITH funding support from the Australian Government through the Women's Leadership & Development Program, the event brings together representatives of women from across the community, business and government sectors, including marginalised women's groups.

The Melbourne event, which is also the official launch of the 1 Million Women campaign in Victoria, is being held just days before the UN climate summit starts in Copenhagen. Other capital cities will follow, with the series ending in Canberra in June 2010.

The series has been created by the 1 Million Women campaign (www.1millionwomen.com.au) and is being presented with Green Capital (www.greencapital.org.au).
